Devil May Cry fans do we have good news for you! Hideki Kamiya, the director of the Devil May Cry 1 says in a recent tweet that he’s interested in remaking the game. And not just any simple remake, he wants to make it the most amazing hack and slash game ever!
“If we remake the 1st DMC, we’re confident about making it the most amazing hack & slash ever. How do you like it, Capcom? 😉 ” He tweeted on March 13!
And this isn’t the first time he tweeted about remaking his 2001 masterpiece. Early this year he took to twitter saying ” I’m just throwing some ideas out there, but I think it’s about time DMC got a game design revision. Looking at current global trends and the amazing graphics in recent Capcom games, the next DMC game could do with a full model change, like the new God of War.” He added that ” Instead of being an anime-style hack ‘n’ slash, maybe Capcom will turn DMC5 into a realistic, cinematic action game…? “
Wouldn’t this be a treat for all the devil may cry fans? A total remake of the Devil May Cry 1 would be awesome since in 2001 it was considered pretty amazing, but by today’s standards it lacks gameplay elements and most important of all is the story. More story depth to the game would do loads for the game and for the DMC lore too. And With Rueben Langdon back as the voice actor of Dante, to bring life to the character that was certainly missing in the first game. It would certainly be better than the Devil May Cry HD collection.
Although Hideki Kamiya is no longer working at Capcom, however, he has done great work for the company, he has directed Resident Evil 2. He also worked on Okami at Clover Studio, and Wonderful 101, and Bayonetta at PlatinumGames.
