According to Jason Schreier from Kotaku, 2K Studio is working on a new BioShock game which is yet to be announced. Schreier, while reporting on Hangar 13’s Mafia III and its troubling year got to know that former employees of Hangar 13 went to work on this new BioShock game.
Allegedly, the new BioShock game is being developed just next door to Hangar 13. Despite all the secrecy, somehow word got out that a project named “Parkside” is actually a project of BioShock’s new title in the franchise.
If anyone from Hangar 13 tried to strike up a conversation with them, they’d say, ‘Oh, we can’t really talk about it,’
It was all very tight-lipped.
According to the reports, the new game will also be using Unreal Engine like its old titles. Every other BioShock game release has used different versions of the engine whether it was from Irrational Games ok 2K Marin.

Sadly for the fans though, the game seems to be far away from a launch date. It is also being said that many developers from Hangar 13 were not able to get a position on this project.
The issue is that Parkside’s not ready for lots of people. They’re trying to be really smart about figuring out what the core thing is. They’re careful about not falling into the same problem every studio has, where they have too many people and nothing for them to do.
This new game does not come as a surprise considering the popularity of the series. The CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick already stated that this is the permanent franchise of the company. It was also revealed previously that a new title of one of the biggest 2K’s franchise will be releasing on March 31, 2019. It can either be Borderlands 3 or the new Bioshock title.
Well, I guess, we’ll have to wait till E3, later this year.
