It’s not much of a surprise that no other phone on the market is making as much buzz as Samsung’s and Apple’s newest flagships: the Galaxy S9 and the S9+ and the iPhone X. Samsung and Apple are always seen dominating the high end phones market, which is why we get to hear more and more about their latest smartphones year after year, and surely 2018 hasn’t been any different, as the top dogs of Apple and Samsung the iPhone X and Galaxy S9+ have been compared repeatedly online.
The comparison that we found of a good standard comes as a courtesy of AppleInsider. They put both phones through a series of tests to come to a conclusion as to which phone has more battery life. But before watching the video, we would like to make it clear to our readers that the Galaxy S9+ has a 3,500 mAh battery while the iPhone X has a 2,716 mAh battery, so it’s not actually a fair fight.
Despite being at a disadvantage, the iPhone X actually manages to perform better than the S9+ in the overnight standby test, as the battery of the iPhone still read 99% after being left alone for about 16 hours while the Galaxy S9+ dropped to 85% capacity over the same length of time. iPhoneX definitely gets the unexpected win in this round.
Three hours of playing YouTube videos brought the iPhone X down to 55%, on the other hand, the S9+ only dropped to 67%. Also, after an hour of playing the game Vainglory, the iPhone X had come down to 87%, but the S9+came down to 84%. But, then the actual benchmark tests from Geekbench came into play, and at that point, the iPhone X could no longer compete.
So If battery life is at the top of your list when buying a new phone, the Galaxy S9+ is simply the better option.
