In this guide, you will learn how to enter DFU mode on your iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone 11 Pro Max. You don’t really need to enter the DFU mode (Device Firmware Upgrade mode) unless you need to reset your iPhone or install any update.
You will need the following before you start following our step-by-step guide below:
- Your iPhone device
- A computer
- A lightning cable
Now, just follow these instructions:
Step 1: Ensure that iTunes is running and your iPhone is connected to your PC.
Step 2: Turn off your iPhone.
Step 3: For three seconds, press and hold the side button. When you see the Apple logo, press and hold the Volume Down button. Keep holding both buttons for at least ten seconds.
Step 4: As soon as the Apple logo disappears, release the Side button. But keep holding the Volume down button for another five seconds.
iTunes will now alert you that your device is in recovery mode and the screen of your iPhone will remain black. You can now update your iPhone using iTunes as you have entered the DFU mode.
